When translating official documents for formal purposes, it’s crucial to understand the differences between notary certified and sworn translation. Within the scope of translation services, one page is defined as 160 words, based on the standard word count in a text editor. Translation fees are calculated according to the source text, with a minimum charge of 160 words per page. For example, if the unit rate for English is TRY 3 per word, a document containing 240 words would be priced at TRY 720 + VAT. Please note that translation fees are determined solely by word count, regardless of the document’s complexity, format, or level of difficulty.

An apostille is a certification that authenticates the origin of a public document, allowing it to be recognized internationally. Established by the Hague Convention of 1961, this simplified process ensures that documents such as birth certificates, marriage licenses, and academic diplomas are accepted across member countries. In Türkiye, apostille certification is performed by district or provincial governorates. For documents intended for use in countries not party to the Hague Convention, certification by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is required.
